Nose piercing gay side

A left nose piercing may relate to one’s sexual orientation. While you should never speculate on someone’s sexual orientation based on which side of their nose they have pierced, some people on TikTok pierce the left side to indicate they are heterosexual or bisexual. Piercing on the right side of the nose for guys has mostly been associated with identification as a homosexual.

Earlier, one could pierce on either side without necessarily trying to symbolize their gender. In some LGBTQ communities, septum piercings are embraced as a sign of pride and expression. Gobel, a member of the queer community, found that her septum piercing had personal meaning to her: “I didn’t get it because of my sexuality, but I definitely think there are some connections there.”.

While some say that men should only have their noses pierced on the right and women on the left (and sometimes the other way round, depending on who’s telling you), there is, in fact, no real reason to choose one side over the other – it’s all down to preference. I’m a straight male that recently got my right side of the nose pierced. I’ve read that the right side on the male signifies that they are gay. Are these stereotypes still in play today?

I prefer the right side done as I’ve got tattoos on the right side of my body.

left side nose piercing meaning woman

Thanks all!. The belief that a nose piercing on a certain side stands for the person's sexuality. Preferably the right side meaning straight and left side being gay. I've heard if you get a nose piercing depending on whatever side you choose it means you're gay or straight. I'll be getting a nose piercing soon but I just want to know if people actually think if this is real or not. Since for ear piercings the saying has been "right is wrong and left is right" meaning a single piercing on the left side meant heterosexual, a single piercing on the right side meant homosexual.

I would say it's the opposite, but I've yet to see anyone actually use it to subtly indicate ones orientation Likes 9. Comments 4. Like 9. I guess that means I need a piecing on all sides apparently since I'm pan.
