Papagayos has a rich history that began in when it first opened as El Cantina del Papagayos in Agua Fria. It started as a quaint establishment with just 11 tables but quickly became a favorite among locals and visitors. In , we expanded by adding an outdoor patio, which provided space for 8 more tables. After 22 wonderful years at our original location, we moved to Lake Arrowhead Village in , where we took over the historic pavilion building—the only remaining structure from the Village's original construction in In , we added our Lakeside Patio and Cantina, which has since become a beloved summer destination.

In , during the challenges of the COVID pandemic, we adapted by shifting to full take-out service. With a limited menu, we were able to safely and effectively serve our loyal patrons. We are incredibly grateful to our customers who supported us through that difficult time. Although we lost dear friends along the way, we continue to honor them as we rock and roll into !
